About Us

Meet the founder: Victoria Grotewiel

Trauma-Informed Specialist & Reiki Master

My name is Victoria Grotewiel, and I am deeply committed to walking alongside you on your path to healing and reclamation. My background bridges the worlds of biological science, grassroots community advocacy, and holistic energy medicine—allowing me to support your nervous system from both a grounded, practical perspective and a deeply intuitive one.

A Scientific and Entrepreneurial Foundation
My journey into understanding human health and systems began with a rigorous academic focus, earning an Associate’s Degree in Biology (Dean’s List) from Erie Community College (1996). My entrepreneurial drive later led me to complete the Business Breakthrough program at the Mi Casa Resource Center (2018), after which I built, owned, and operated Regal Bakery and Chess Cafe (2018–2020), fostering connection and community spaces.

Crisis Advocacy and Trauma-Informed Care
Driven to support individuals navigating severe life challenges, I spent years on the frontlines of community health as a Case Manager for the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless (2021–2024). During this time, I completed intensive, specialized professional training in:

Trauma-Informed Care

Motivational Interviewing

Mental Health First Aid

This era of my career gave me an acute, compassionate understanding of how deep trauma reshapes the human experience and how crucial safety is for recovery.

Somatic and Energy Medicine Masteries
Recognizing that true healing requires releasing trauma stored within the physical body, I shifted my focus to holistic nervous system regulation. In 2025, I earned my certification as an Auricular Acu-Technician through POCA (People’s Organization for Community Acupuncture), an intensive training centered on Traditional Chinese Medicine, the nervous system, and somatic trauma release. I am also a certified Reiki Master (2025), working directly with the body’s subtle energy systems to restore balance and peace.

Community Leadership and Collaboration
Community healing is at the heart of everything I do. Since 2022, I have proudly assisted in facilitating support group calls for KKC Cares, Inc., collaborating with a network of dedicated advocates. In 2024, I founded and continue to facilitate Healers Hub, a collaborative community dedicated to uplifting wellness and collective care.

I am honored to bring this lifetime of diverse experience to A Life After…, LLC, helping you soothe your nervous system, step out of survival mode, and rediscover your innate peace.

Meet the founder: Khriste Kunz

My name is Khriste Kunz, and my mission is to help you navigate the path from trauma to true, lasting peace. My journey into this work began in 1997 through profound personal experience, which ignited a lifelong passion for advocacy, education, and holistic healing.

A Foundation in Education & Human Resources
I began my career focused on development and human behavior, earning an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (Dean’s List) from Hudson Valley Community College (1998) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources (Dean’s List) from Empire State College (2013). This unique combination blends deep developmental understanding with organizational leadership.

Decades of Dedicated Advocacy & Community Leadership
For over a decade, I have stood side-by-side with families facing their hardest moments. Since 2012, I have volunteered as a guide for families navigating Family Court and CPS in matters of abuse and molestation. My work deepened through my association with T.A.A.L.K., where I participated starting in 2014 and have proudly co-led a support group for Non-Offending Parents since 2016.

My commitment to the community spans across various leadership roles, including serving on several PTA boards (2012–2018) and acting as the Northeast Region Director of the NYS PTA (2016–2018). From 2019 to 2021, I also served directly as a Community Service Provider with Northern Rivers Family Services, giving me an extensive, practical knowledge of local resources. Driven to do more, I founded and serve as Executive Director of the non-profit organization, KKC Cares, Inc., since 2021.

Holistic Tools for True Nervous System Healing
Realizing that cognitive understanding is only part of the recovery puzzle, I trained extensively in somatic and energy modalities to help clients heal from the inside out. I am a trained Life Coach through the NLP Association of Excellence and hold certifications in Reiki, Energy Healing, EFT/TFT (Tapping), and Eden Energy Medicine.

Today, I integrate this lifetime of advocacy, lived experience, and somatic training to help you regulate your nervous system, reclaim your safety, and become the hero of your own healing journey.

In our upcoming workshop, you'll gain:
• A deeper understanding of trauma and the nervous system
• Practical regulation tools you can use immediately
• Hope that change is possible, even if you've felt stuck for a long time
